The Science Olympiad is a prominent test that is held throughout India. There are two levels to this test. Basic scientific principles make up the first level. Students are tested on sophisticated scientific theories at the second level. The students who pass the first round of the olympiad exam advance to the second.

NSEB – National Standard Examination in Biology

NSEP – National Standard Examination in Physics
The Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) organises the NSEP on a national basis, with the support of various centres all around the country. NSEC – National Standard Examination in Chemistry
The NSEC Examination is jointly conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education and the Indian Association of Physics Teachers. This test is held every year in November, and numerous examination centres are designated for its administration. The National Science Education Center promotes chemistry as a topic and fosters interest in it. The NSEC encourages students’ achievements, depending on their examination results.

NSEJS – National Standard Examination In Junior Scientific
The National Standard Examination In Junior Scientific (NSEJS) is a science Olympiad, as the name indicates. In the year 1987, it was held for the first time. The test is one of the most difficult national scientific exams offered by the IAPT (Indian Association of Physics Teachers). The subjects included in the NSEJS exams are Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.

IOAA – International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics
The IOAA’s major purpose is to foster a rising interest in astronomy and associated STEM fields among young people, particularly through general education. It also aims to strengthen worldwide collaboration in promoting astronomy and astrophysics in schools.
IBO – International Biology Olympiad
The International Biology Olympiad is the world’s most prestigious biology competition, held every year in July for secondary school students. Students who wish to take the IBO test must place in the top four students in the final round of the National Biology Olympiad, which is held each year during the current school year, and is open to only secondary school students in general education. All schools in each nation are welcome to participate in NBO.
InChO – Indian National Chemistry Olympiad
InChO is an annual competition for high school students that allows them to display their skills in their favourite subject, Chemistry. The yearly competition is organised by the Homi Bhabha Centre in collaboration with the Indian Association of Chemistry Teachers every year.
InPhO – Indian National Physics Olympiad
The Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) hosts the Indian National Physics Olympiad (INPhO) once a year in June and July. It is aimed at secondary school students who want to expand their understanding of Physics on a global scale.

INBO – Indian Biology Olympiad
INBO (Indian National Biology Olympiad) is a competition for students in classes 11 and 12. It is a national level test and the second stage of the Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education’s Biology Olympiad Program (HBCSE). It is held at over 15 locations across India, and attracts a significant number of students each year.
STSE – State Talent Search Examination
STSE is a scholarship test conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer, to help students who aspire to continue their education at the graduate and post-graduate levels. It is conducted yearly for Class 10 and 12 students from examination boards which are recognized.
